About

The American Conference for Irish Studies is a multidisciplinary international scholarly organization. Founded in 1960, it is the oldest and largest academic organization dedicated to the study of Ireland and the Irish. Each spring the ACIS holds a national conference. Regional meetings are held every autumn in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Western regions; the Southern regional takes place in the winter.

Both national and regional meetings include plenary speakers, academic sessions in all fields of Irish Studies, poetry and fiction readings, films, and performances of Irish music and plays.
